Managing Director
Gerd Burkhardt
Gerd Burkhardt studied civil engineering at the university, specialising in municipal hydraulic engineering / waste management, and graduated in 1985.
After graduation, he worked in a waste management office until March 1991, first as a clerk and later as head of department for landfill technology and contaminated sites.
In December 1990, he founded the engineering company Prof. Czurda und Partner mbH in Karlsruhe together with Prof. Dr. Dr. Kurt Czurda and Prof. Dr. Thomas Egloffstein.
From 01.04.1991 until November 2022, Gerd Burkhardt worked for ICP as managing partner. In the mid-nineties, Gerd Burkhardt expanded the international activities. Since then he has worked for ICP in around 40 countries.
Since the sale of the company shares to the M&P Group, he has been Managing Director.
Gerd Burkhardt specialises in waste management and landfill technology as well as project management, permit and contract award management and occupational health and safety. He is a member of numerous professional associations, including Working Group 6.1 "Landfill Geotechnics" of the German Geotechnical Society.
Managing Director
Katrin Schumacher
Katrin Schumacher studied civil engineering in Aachen. Her interest in contaminated sites and geotechnics was already awakened during her studies in various student assistant jobs.
After obtaining her diploma in January 2000, she started her practical work in a small engineering office in the Aachen district. In 2002, Ms Schumacher moved to M&P West in Hagen. With her first professional experience under her belt, Ms Schumacher was able to expand the subsoil department of MuP West here until 2014. The interdisciplinary projects involving contaminated sites, subsoil and deconstruction, i.e. building in existing structures, were a particularly attractive challenge.
In 2014, Ms Schumacher moved to the ICP in Karlsruhe to set up the department of Building in Existing Contexts. In the field of building in existing contexts, the focus is on the revitalisation of brownfields. For this, all topics concerning contaminated sites, deconstruction, building ground with all interfaces have to be dealt with. In addition, the topic of waste management in tunnelling projects represents a further focus of work.
Last but not least, the seminars of ICP are very close to Mrs. Schumacher's heart and she is looking forward to the expansion of the training and further education programme with the team of ICP and the M&P Group.
Ms Schumacher has been Managing Director of ICP since 1 January 2024.
